Spent a few extra days in Townsville after the teaching as the apartment is still available.

Now back to Moranbah where we baby sit Kale for 5 days while Kris and Ally have
a Honeymoon on the Gold coast.
Wed 23rd back to Theresa Creek where we set up in the same spot we had last
time.
Kris, Ally and Kale come out and set up camp with us again for a few days.

Visitors again now Mr and Mrs Bacon and son

Visitors trying out the porta bote (thats how it's spelt)
It's getting hot out here now just before the storm season but we are enjoying the boat and catching yabbies in the dam. The wild life around the dam is amazing, we have seen a pair of Jabirus normally only seen in the Northern territory, Brolgas, magpie geese, kangas and pigs, lots of strange birds. Cattle are drawn to the water where they have learned to wade in the shallows to eat the water lilies. A great source of food in an otherwise dry and somewhat desolate place at this time of year before the transforming rains come, fattening the cattle and keep Macdonald's in beef patties.

Black swan normally in W.A.

Strolling Jabiru, rare in this part of Australia, normally found in N.T.

Jabiru flys

Ubiquitous Pelicans

Cows eating the lilies

more cows

Magpie Goose

Doesn't get much better

Than this, they are delicious.
Today is the 31st Oct, Laurens Birthday, Big Happy birthday Lauren.
We hear there is a party of considerable magnitude planned for the
weekend in the Goldborough Valley residence, God preserve the neighbors.
We leave you in Oct to begin Nov still at the Dam.
The plan is to be present at Kales birthday in Moranbah on 16th then make our way back to Cairns for a Family Xmas.
We will depart again after Xmas and make our way down the East coast.
